SSR

Today we attended a Senior day at Abyssinian Church. It was a informational day, I learned some stuff that I was able to take with me and utilize in college. These workshops were essential today because the presentations given were pieces of info people needed to hear. The presenters seemed like they could relate to the questions and worries of the students today. When this connection is made between the presenters and the students, they are more likely to ask more questions and hold a conversation. Also they were there to give the advice that you needed to hear that you heard from your other mentors, teachers or guidance counselors.

I went to one workshop that was set to teach us about the do's and don't's during a interview and what they look for. First, I took from this workshop to always ask questions because it shows the interest into the job. Second, go into the job with some knowledge of the company because it shows you did some research on the company. Lastly, apply to all scholarships, there is a bunch of free money out there just have to take it.

The workshop before that one explained the changes that are going to occur during college. No college is going to be like New York with corner stores on every corner, as well as no chicken spots on every avenue. Secondly, if you receive a refund check during your semester; DON'T BLOW IT!! The worst thing is spending it on clothes and parties. Lastly, never room with your friends from high school. You will never open your horizons if you don't open up and meet new people.

  1. I feel like you can room with someone you know but not someone your close with. Another thing I agree with is money management you have to know how to control your freedom with money so you don't go broke.
